Fuel oil pressure tester
Fuel pressure tester kit will quickly diagnose fuel system, and have different connectors for all vehicles.
It is necessary to test fuel pressure during trouble shooting of fuel injection system. When an engine is working, high fuel pressure will make the gas mixture of engine so heavy as to cause malfunction of engine, incomplete combustion, increase of carbon deposition, and over-standard emission of tail gas, etc. On the other hand, low fuel pressure will make the gas mixture of engine so thin as to cause burning of injector and detonation of engine, this will further damage piston, piston ring, connecting rod and crankshaft, and as a result, the automobile wouldn’t work. Therefore, it is essential to check the fuel system of an engine for normal operation of the car during each maintenance period.
Methods of testing fuel pressure
Basically, there are three methods of testing fuel pressure:
l Many types of automobiles are equipped with a Schrader valve at the special test port of fuel injection system. As indicated in Figure 1, connect a proper adapter to the pressure gauge, then screw the adapter to the test port, in this way, you can test the fuel pressure.

l Connect the pressure gauge to the end of fuel inlet pipeline.

l Series connection: Connect a proper adapter in series to fuel pipeline.(See figure 3)

In addition to the method corresponding to Figure 1, the following processes are suitable for Figure 2 and Figure 3:
1. Release pressure for the fuel system according to the automobile maintenance manual. As for most automobiles, their fuel pump shall be disconnected first and the engine shall run until the fuel pump stops. Note: since most automobiles have more than one fuel pump, all the fuel pumps shall be stopped.
2. According to what is described in the automobile maintenance manual, disconnect fuel supply pipeline, and then connect a proper adapter to the middle of fuel supply pipeline.
3. Connect the fuel pressure gauge to the adapter.(Note: put the drain pipe of the gauge into the fuel storage during testing).
